Donald Thompson Announced as William Peace University Commencement Speaker
Raleigh, NC (04/19/2023) — RALEIGH, N.C. - Globally respected business leader Donald Thompson will address graduates at William Peace University during Commencement, officials said today.
Co-founder and CEO of The Diversity Movement, Thompson has sparked a nationwide movement to create workplace excellence via subscription-based, scalable diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. A noted speaker, advisor, and executive coach, he has created a culture-centric leadership model for winning in the marketplace by balancing empathy and economics.
Under Thompson's leadership, The Diversity Movement has earned numerous accolades, including being named a Fast Company "world-changing idea" and Inc. Magazine's "Best in Business" in DE&I Advocacy. Thompson is also a three-time Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies winner, named to the Forbes Next 1000 List, and the Business North Carolina Power List of leaders making a significant impact on organizations, industries, and communities in North Carolina. He serves on 12 boards across various industries, including marketing, health, and finance.

Thompson's leadership and commitment to community are why he was selected to speak to graduates, said WPU President Brian C. Ralph.

And our graduates learn to become global citizens, participate in their communities, serve on boards, and lead others," Ralph said. "Thompson's journey is inspiring, and we're thrilled he will share his lessons with our graduates."
WPU's Commencement Ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023.
