William Peace University Athletics Announces Becky Scroger As Head Women's Soccer Coach

Raleigh, NC (01/12/2022) — RALEIGH, NC - William Peace University athletics is excited to announce Becky Scroger as the Head Women's Soccer Coach.

Coach Scroger joins the Pacers after serving as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Thiel College in Greenville, PA since 2017. During her time at Thiel, Coach Scroger helped revitalize the women's soccer program, producing the best overall record since 2014.

Several of her recruits currently sit in the Top 5 of the Thiel women's soccer all-time record book, and her players earned numerous All-Conference honors in her years at Thiel. The team was awarded the United Soccer Coaches Academic Award for the first time in program history in 2020-21, also picking up its best conference record in the spring of 2021.

Coach Scroger is excited to join the Pacers, saying, "I would like to thank Athletic Director Tom Curle, President Brian Ralph, and the entire search committee for this opportunity. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the William Peace University family and athletics program and am very excited by the potential of the women's soccer program. Prior to joining the Pacers, Coach Scroger worked as an assistant coach at Division II Seton Hill University from 2015-16. During her time at Seton Hill, the team earned its first-ever regional ranking. She also worked as an assistant coach at Division I Bucknell University in 2014 and an assistant at Washington & Jefferson College from 2012-2014.

Scroger graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Visual Arts and New Media from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 2010, earning a Master's in Business Administration with a specialization in sports management from Seton Hill University in 2017. Scroger started in goal all four years while at Fredonia, helping the Blue Devils to their first regional ranking and first SUNYAC playoff appearance in program history.

Athletic Director Tom Curle stated, "Becky Scroger brings a wealth of experience as a coach at all levels of intercollegiate women's soccer. Our national search emphasized finding a coach who was student-centric and would promote a positive, competitive atmosphere. We have found exactly that with Coach Scroger.
