William Peace University to host World War II Reading
Raleigh, NC (10/25/2024) — RALEIGH, N.C. - William Peace University, in partnership with N.C. State professor Christopher McKittrick will bring World War II alive on Veterans Day.
In honor of the national holiday, William Peace University will host "Conversations with History" at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 at Leggett Theatre.
At "Conversations with History," attendees will hear readings of personal stories from members of our "greatest generation" about their lives during World War II.
McKittrick, an accounting professor at N.C. State, has spoken with people who were alive during World War II and documented each conversation.
Actors will read these stories during the event on Veterans Day.
"I have always been fascinated with history," McKittrick said. "I always want to peel back the layers and learn the rest of the story."
The event is free to the public. Donations to the USO can be made at the door.
