Raleigh Community Invited to WPU Tree Lighting
Raleigh, NC (11/08/2024) — RALEIGH, N.C. - William Peace University cordially invites Raleigh residents to join us to kick off the holiday season with a tree-lighting ceremony on Wednesday, November 20.
The community is invited to attend the tree lighting at 7 p.m. University President Dr. Lynn Morton will say a few words before lighting the 32-foot tree near the campus' iconic fountain. Attendees are encouraged to gather at 6:45 p.m. and remain afterward for hot chocolate and treats.
A photographer will be available to take pictures of family and friends in front of the tree, printed on site free of charge.
There will be a William Peace Alumni Social from 5:30 to 6:50 p.m. Before the tree lighting, Peace students will take part in a Moravian Love Feast, coordinated by WPU Chaplin Tanner Brown.
The night will feature Pure Life Theatre Company performing The Motown Sound of Christmas, directed by Deb Royals with music director Ronzel Bell. WPU Alumna Anthony Cooper and current students Skylar Fabien and Alyah McCryndle are featured in the cast. Current WPU student Evan Mauer works as an assistant light designer on the show.
